Meet the 2022 AFAC Documentary Program grantees
Niineteen documentary films, showcasing artful storytelling across a broad spectrum of themes, were selected for support via the AFAC Documentary Program (ADP) for the year 2022.
The selection was reached following a two-day meeting that brought together the 2022 ADP jurors: Syrian cinematographer Joude Gorani, Palestinian director and writer Sandra Madi, and Tunisian sound engineer and producer Mouncef Taleb.
Selected among 134 applications, the 19 documentary film projects hail from Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Tunisia, Algeria and Yemen.
Following the deliberations, the jurors issued a statement, which highlighted the cinematic styles, themes, and techniques in the projects selected, as well as the conditions affecting production in the region.
